Complex systems and increasing demands do not work together

Wittusen & Jensen, who operates with a 10.000 square meters large warehouse in Oslo, needed flexibility in its WMS-solution in order to deliver accordingly with the competitive demands and the quality that it endeavors.

Before the implementation of Apport WMS, Wittusen & Jensen had a demand for simple and effective processes. Supply Chain Manager Camilla Haltbakk explains:” We had another WMS-solution before Apport, however, it was to complex and it did not have the flexibility that we needed”.

It is not hard to imagine how time-consuming it is to have control over a large and busy warehouse. Therefore, it is no use to have complex systems. Camilla Haltbakk explains: “to meet the market, you have to be flexible as a logistics supplier”.

Therefore, the hunt for a new WMS-solution began so it could become possible for Wittusen & Jensen to exploit its resources rightly with the desired focus on its customers. After a good impression and visits to multiple warehouses that had implemented Apport WMS, the choice was clear. Wittusen & Jensen wanted Apport WMS.

After the implementation of Apport WMS, the processes at Wittusen & Jensens’ warehouse in Oslo has become simpler and that makes the everyday much easier. “Apport has everything that our previous WMS-solution did not,” Camilla Haltbakk emphasizes. 

“Earlier, we used a lot of time on training new employees in the warehouse. Now we can train employees from day to day.”

With Apport WMS, it became possible to have a standard solution that is easy to build further upon. This has optimized all the warehouse processes at Wittusen & Jensen. Now, there is control of inventory, fewer picking errors and it is possible to do far more order lines.

In addition, the intuitive system benefits new employees in the warehouse as well as routinized employees: “Earlier, we used a lot of time on training new employees in the warehouse. Now we can train employees from day to day.” Camilla Haltbakk explains.
