A warehouse that couldn’t keep up

With a new strategic plan and increasing growth, Wexøe faced a challenge: Their old warehouse management system could no longer keep up. The system was outdated, relied on manual processes, and made it difficult to scale the warehouse in line with the business.

The solution was Apport Enterprise WMS, which was implemented in spring 2024. The system has given Wexøe a more efficient warehouse, where goods are moved faster through the processes and space is used more effectively – benefiting both customers and employees.

Personalized logistics, simplified

An important part of the solution was Apport’s VAS module (Value Added Service), which makes it easier for Wexøe to handle customer-specific requirements more efficiently. Previously, warehouse workers had to look up instructions for packaging, transport solutions, or special handling in different systems. Today, they automatically receive pop-up messages on their handheld terminals with clear instructions when picking or packing orders.

The VAS module has thus made it easier to meet customers’ specific requirements. It has created a better flow in work processes, improved the customer experience, and increased safety in the handling of special goods.

The future

Towards greener logistics

Future growth is now supported by a stronger and smarter warehouse system. The next step is to introduce fixed shipping days, where orders are grouped into a single shipment. This will not only streamline workflows but also reduce both transportation costs and CO2 emissions – an important step towards greener logistics.
